Viessling (Grüner Veltliner)

The small village of Viessling lies in the west of the Spitz valley. It is known as one of the coolest areas of the Wachau. Therefore, Viessling can be seen as a kind of counterpoint to the Loibenberg (the warmest terroir of the Wachau). The vineyard is east-facing, which means that, already in the early evenings, it is exposed to the cool winds coming over from the Waldviertel. All of this results in highly aromatic grapes with very minerally acidity and incomparable elegance. The terraces allow for handwork only.
